Scanning Files For My office.

Hi,

I currently have in the region of around 10, 000 files to be scanned in my office, so it can be completely "computerised".
I was wondering what the quickest way to do this would be ie the best hardware/software to use. I would ideally be looking to do this on my own, i understand that it is going to be very time consuming so I would be looking for the best/quickest way to do this...

Excel Query - Using SUMPRODUCT in a Pivot Table.

Do any of you know how to implement a SUMPRODUCT formula in a Pivot? I think it may be possible but I don't axactly know how...

I can add simple formulas in a Pivot (by going to 'Formulas' > 'Calculated Filed' in the Pivot Toolbar) but I cannot figure out how to get SUMPRODUCT working... :(

Any ideas?

Right, I have this PC here, trying to clean it up

I was using CPU-Z to check the memory etc etc and I found out that the Pentium 4 is a Prescott and HT ready but in the BIOS HT is disabled, the mobo is HT ready and the sticker on the front of the PC has NO HT feature on it.

Should I turn on the Hyper Threading?

Is there a risk of damaging the CPU if HT isnt supported? Has CPU Z ever got the CPU type wrong?

Computer not loading pages fully - .exe"Javascript is not working correctly on this PC" ??? =x AHH!!!!?

When I log into my Yahoo mail page the page is blank. When I try to install McAfee security it says there was an error because JavaScript is not working properly. I have an inspiron 1721 vista. I have reinstalled and reformated everything 3 times! I have downloaded Java and installed the newest updates and restarted the comp. I am going C R A Z Y ! ! ! OHH! I installed FireFox and when I log into my yahoo mail through FireFox it works. ANY IDEAS???:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Single Sign on program for remembering passwords?.

In work we use this program by Passlogix, which basically remembers all your passwords, all you have to input is your Windows logon passsword at certain times, and you can get this program to remember any passwords for applications and websites etc. It's very cool.

Is there anything like this aimed at consumers and not the Enterprise does anyone know?

Does anyone know if they're sold here in Ireland? I know Harvey Norman in Australia sell them but I haven't heard about them being sold anywhere here. Seen some online for sale but they're from Britain and shipping would catch you out there in the end.

Lost Windows CD.

My PC is running very slowly so I'd like to reinstall Windows. I can't find the CD though. I called Dell to see if I could get another one. They said call Microsoft. I called Microsoft and they said call Dell.

What can I do?

HELP! Problems replacing DVD Rom with DVD Rewriter!.

I'm trying to replace a HL DVD Rom drive in my Dell Dimension C521 with an LG Super Multi DVD Rewriter. The (in)famous 'man in the shop' told me all I had to do was open the cover, transfer the cables from one device to another and reassemble - unfortunately, not so :(
Neither of the original 2 cables fit the new drive, but I can see see an unused loose power cable which seems to fit ok. I can't identify anything else which looks like an IDE Data cable that would fit the available socket - the remaining other loose unused cable inside the case is too small. The instructions for the new drive recommend an '80-pin type IDE cable' or even preferably an '80-pin E-IDE cable'.
As a total newbie inside a computer case (apart from basic memory upgrading) is there anything I can do to fit this new drive? Something like an adaptor connection? Or is it a job for a professional, or worse, not possible? I've taken pictures of the cables and devices involved if that would help anyone to provide an answer and I can upload them to Picasa.

Hi all,
I'm very interested in this printer (and to a certain extend the lesser HP officejet pro k5400dn) but would like some first hand advice on it first of all.

Has anyone here used it? How was actual print speed and quality? How long did cartridges last for?

And, importantly, has anyone used the duplex option on this printer? Does it work as expected and do I need to purchase an additional piece in order to get the duplex option working?

Wireless router - Xbox - PC.

Hi,

Just installed a new ZyXEL router so that we can use the Xbox on line. Dont seem to be able to access the internet on my PC when the x box is accessing the internet. Is this a common problem? I'm with BT, 2 or 3mg package. Cheers, Daisy.

probably the wrong place for this message but a few days ago I tried to get into my hotmail account but it wont let me in. I know my password is definately right I've had it for years. I clicked the forgot password button but that didnt help at all cause the answer I gave didnt match what I put in when I set up the account I cant remember it for the life of me. So I tried to reset it but of course they send the password reset to your email which is kind of ironic considering thats what I cant get into ...
I know this seems like a stupid post considering you can get a new email address easily but I've had this one years.

Need help finding an external sound card.

Hi guys,

Apologies if this is covered somewhere else, but I'm a complete novice when it comes to this stuff....

I'd like to use some piano/keyboard teaching software I've got knocking about, and need to connect my keyboard to my laptop.

Basically the suite says I need to hook up my keyboard to a sound card's MIDI socket. Problem is, since I only have a laptop I haven't got one.

Are there any cheap external sound cards with a MIDI input? I've had a look at a bunch of external sound cards online, but none seem to explicitly say 'MIDI INPUT'. I'm not after anything high-quality, just a very basic, no-frills solution. Thanks in advance!

Limewire Connection problems.

Limewire simply wont connect. tried reinstalling and the 3 firewalls i have are set up to allow it through! I also tried dissconnecting all 3 and it still wouldnt connect. Can anyone help?

aaaerror code 8000 ffff.

Hi, I have 2 laptops both running Vista ( which wrecks my head) and they cant update, every time I run updates I get this error code 8000 ffff. I've been on the Microsoft website and searched the web but none of the solutions I have read worked. I have XP pro can I install that on the laptops and will it all the components work?
