Graphics Card around €100?.

i'm looking for a decent graphics card to run games like assassins creed and GTA 4 and video for around €100. I've got something like 3G of ram and 3GHz dual core processor. Any suggestions?

Gfx card to play blu-ray.

Just put a blu-ray drive (LG - HL-DT-ST BD-RE GBW-H20L) into my system but I think my graphics card is not capable of playing blu-ray dvds.

Thinking of buying THIS. Wondering woud this be enough to playback blu-ray movies?

1 gig RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 256Mb

Need to get two of these cards, anyone know where the cheapest place might be or where I could get a little off for buying 2 of them :)

Radeon 9600 giving shuddering effect.

I have a Pentium 4, 2.8Ghz HP machine and have installed a Radeon 9600 256MB AGP card into it. The problem is that it seems to be giving a shuddering effect on the screen which is really irritating and is constant. I suspect it could be one of a number of things and am hoping someone here might point me in the right direction.
Is it:
- the fact that I have connected my screen to the VGA connection and not the DVI?
- that the graphics driver is crap and needs updating (I got the latest from ati.com)?
- that the GFX card is faulty?

I also hear the fan of the PSU kick in noisely when I am running a few (light) applications and wonder if it is even up to the task. It is a 240w PSU, but I have only added one IDE drive and the GFX card to the standard system.

At the moment I have it connected to a 32" LCD TV, but it will be used with a 22" LCD screen in the future. It's not a RAM issue as there are 2.5 gigs already installed.

Ati Radeon 9600 losing custom settings.

I've just hooked up my pc to a new tv (trying to move away from the oul CRT that has served me well over the years).

It's a 19" Hisense TV with a native resolution of 1440*900. When I set my pc to that resolution the picture is half off the screen. Now after tinkering with some settings I discovered that if I use the catalyst control centre and go to Monitor Properties -> Adjustments and change the horizontal synchronisation that the picture displays properly.

The problem is that if I change inputs on the tv or reboot it goes back to being half off the screen. I have to go back to the control centre and do the sync change again. Anyone have any suggestions that might get the settings to persist?

I've just downloaded the app from the ati website so I assume I'm on the latest driver/app version.

I bought "Company of Heroes" and when i went to install,a notification of failure appeared "your video card does not support shader model 1.1"
What does that mean?

Graphics Card.

Hi,

A mate is looking to buy a new graphics card for his laptop, he wants to play championship manager however it needs a 128mb card and he has a 64mb. I went to dabs and komplett but i dont see anything that differntiates PC's from laptops, is there a particular type of card i should be looking for and also is it like a memory card where it needs to be compatible with the motherboard and if so then is there somewhere i can type in the model of the laptop and find compatabile ones and then look for them on dabs or komplett?

I have a Medion akoya MD96630 at its not bad as far as laptops go, however the unit shut down a few weeks ago and a friend of mind rebooted it and all is fine apart form the video card. It came with nvidia graphics and now the display driver says in is running standard vga driver. How do i fix this? the windows movie maker wouldn't run because of this. So if any of you on here can help me sort this out I'd be delighted,
cos I don't really want to trouble my friend again.

Photoshop on iMac and Dell Laptop licencing.

I was wondering, it is legal for me to put a copy of photoshop on an Imac and on a Mac book as long as both are not used at the same time. I have an Imac, but i have a dell laptop with vista. Can i put a copy on this laptop under this principal? Or will i have to buy a licence for each platform?

I'm not very well up on computers but I was wondering if maybe you guys knew what would be the best graphics card to get for my computer,

AMD athlon 64X2 dual core processor 3800+ 2.01ghz
3gb RAM
32-bit operating system
GeForce 6150 SE graphics card
..... I don't know what else....it's an inspiron 531 (I've lost the manual)

so... the graphics card is truely woeful and I haven't been able to play many new games because it doesn't meet the minimum requirements, I was hoping maybe I could get some help in knowing what to look for when buying a new graphics card (if it's compatible etc.) and maybe if you guys know a specific model that would suit me for my current needs. I kinda just want something I can install (or have installed) that isn't going to be lacking with every game I buy released after the year 2006.

Any suggestions?

I updated my drivers to version 8.12 but now am unable to open the catalyst control centre. Anyone have any ideas? I am running xp pro 64 bit os.
